A LAPIS LAZULI FIGURE OF BUDAI WITH CHILD, 19TH CENTURYChina, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). The Laughing Buddha is depicted wearing an open robe showing his characteristically large belly, holding a rosary in one hand, and supporting a boy on his back. The base fitted and inlaid with metal wire. The stone of an intense blue hue amid veins in various shades of gray beneath glimmering mica flecks.Condition: Good condition with minor wear and small nicks here and there.
