A LAPIS LAZULI ‘BUDDHA HAND CITRUS’ CARVING, REPUBLIC PERIODChina, Republic period (1912-1949). Carved in openwork as a large Buddha hand citrus. The well-polished stone of an intense, striking blue hue amid veins in various shades of gray beneath glimmering mica flecks. With a fitted lacquered wood base.Condition: Good condition with minor wear and tiny nicks here and there as well as small chips to the tips of the fruit. The stone with natural inclusions and fissures. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above.
