AN AGATE FIGURE OF BUDAIChina, 20th Century. The Laughing Buddha is carved standing, dressed in a long, flowing garment, open at the front to reveal his protuberant belly, holding a large prayer bead in his left hand and a fan in the right one, the face with an exuberantly joyful expression, flanked by long earlobes. Condition: Good condition with some wear, minor nicks here and there and a chip to the lower part of the robe. The stone with natural imperfections. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above.
