AN ARCHAISTIC BRONZE FITTED CEALDON JADE PENDANTChina, Qing dynasty (1644-1912) – Republic period (1912-1949). The jade of inverted heart shape with straight top pierced for suspension, carved to one side with a ribbed border, the center fitted with a bronze piece in form of the crescent moon. The translucent stone of a pale celadon color with veins and shadings of cloudy-white and brown. Condition: Good condition with traces of use and wear, the stone with natural fissures and imperfections. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above. Dr. István Zelnik, President of the Hungarian South and Southeast Asian Research Institute, is a former high-ranking Hungarian diplomat who spent several decades in Southeast Asia, building the largest known private collection of Asian art in Europe.
