A CELADON JADE `FISH´ PENDANT, c. 1920sChina, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) to Republic period (1912-1949). Finely carved in the form of a fish with an upswept tail, the fins incised with archaistic motifs, the underside flat. The translucent stone of a pale celadon tone with pale-yellow shadings. Condition: Very good condition minor wear. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above. Dr. István Zelnik, President of the Hungarian South and Southeast Asian Research Institute, is a former high-ranking Hungarian diplomat who spent several decades in Southeast Asia, building the largest known private collection of Asian art in Europe.
