A gold medal of scalloped shape, the upper and the lower part pierced with attachment holes (originally for beaded tassels, here missing). Nicely chiseled, a central cartouche on both sides flanked by two confronted flying phoenix. The obverse inscribed with ‘保大年造’, i.e. in Chữ Nôm ‘Bảo Đại Năm Tạo’ (lit. ‘Made under the reign of Emperor Bao Dai); The reverse inscribed with ‘琼瑶永好’.
