A CHAM GOLD REPOUSSÉ PLAQUE OF A BODHISATTVAVietnam, former kingdoms of Champa, circa 6th to 8th century. Of rectangular form with rounded corners, depicting a standing bodhisattva, four-armed and holding various attributes, wearing a sampot with pendent ornaments and a crown or tiara. The head backed by a round halo. Alloy composition analysis: Gold 16 karat. The plaque was tested by the Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Condition: Good condition with some minor bending and tears, few miniscule losses, and traces of age and wear. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above.
