A BUST OF VAIKUNTHA VISHNUIndia, late 19th century to first half of the 20th century. The bust made of very heavy stone composition, being molded, carved, and coated with a maroon varnish in places. The round face finely carved with almond shaped eyes below gently arched eyebrows, the forehead centered with a third eye, the head surmounted by a tall crown and bejeweled with beaded pendants and an armlet, backed by a halo. The principal head flanked by a lion respectively a boar head. Comes with a recent metal base. Condition: Good condition with wear, minor losses, encrustations, nicks, and scratches.
