A LARGE AND RARE PAIR OF WOODEN WILDCATS, MUGHAL EMPIREIndia, Mughal Empire, 18th to 19th century. Skillfully and expressively carved, each standing foursquare on an oval base with one paw elegantly raised, the long tail curling gracefully along the back, the mouth is open, revealing white teeth, prominent fangs, and a vibrant red tongue. The ears are upright, capturing the wild cats' alertness and power, the backside revealing the male genitalia.Condition: Good condition with wear, surface scratches, few age cracks and some losses.
