Breathtaking Qianlong Ox-blood glazed Chinese vase. Encased in brilliant red monochrome underglaze. The exterior is masterfully covered in an even coat of red glaze which creates a mottled effect around the rim which is likened unto the blushing of human skin. Curvy feminine body rises naturally into a stout neck, eventually angling outward at the ovoid opening. The clay is fine and exquisite, the glaze smooth, brilliant with a moist appearance, the finishing meticulous. Mark on base, a six blue underglazed seal script -ZhuanShu- characters, QianLong Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty.
