Chinese Qianlong blue porcelain Huluping vase. Double gourd resemblance, bulbous lower section converging into a lemon-shape midsection and finishing into a slender bottleneck at the top. The bottom forms a substantial ring-base with a flat offset face. The exterior is uniformly coated in a beautiful monochrome blue glaze that shows an even thickness throughout. The blue glaze creates a mottled effect around the rim which is likened unto the blushing of human skin. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous craftsman. The underside base reveals the pale white underglaze with a few striations. Mark on base, a six blue underglazed seal script -ZhuanShu- characters, QianLong Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty.
