Captivating Yongzheng DouCai vase with masterful artistry. A Sizeable rotund vase with rounded shoulders converging into a tall straight neck, with a slightly concave foot base. The exterior is delicately decorated with hand painted gnarled tree branches bearing an abundance of luscious peaches intermingled with soaring Fu-bats. Peaches are known to resemble immortality, marriage, and spring-time. Daoist also believe the peach tree grows near the palace of Xiwangmu who the Queen of the Immortals is. Fu can mean prosperity and good fortune which is why the bat has become a symbol for good luck. The clay is fine and exquisite, the glaze smooth, brilliant with a moist appearance, the finishing meticulous. Mark on base, a vertical six blue underglazed script -KaiShu- characters, enclosed by double fine blue rings, YongZheng Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty.
