A Sizeable Kangxi Porcelain vase with cylindrical body, rounded shoulders converging into a tall straight neck, and a slightly concave foot base. The exterior is encapsulated in Ming-blue water-lily, seagrass, and other marine flora; Which makes up the carps natural habitat. The carp is accepted to represent longevity, wealth, abundance, and perseverance. The underside foot rim left unglazed, with pale-creme base spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim. The receded base left white underglaze. The clay is fine and exquisite, the glaze smooth, brilliant with a moist appearance, the finishing meticulous. Mark on base, six blue underglazed script -KaiShu- characters, enclosed by double fine blue rings, KangXi Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty.
