A Chinese Qianlong Ge bulbous celestial vase. The immaculate porcelain body covered with a characteristic silky glaze with various striations throughout the finish. Curvy feminine body rises naturally into a stout neck, eventually angling outward at the ovoid opening. Distinctive Ge crackled glaze also known as jinsitiexian which translates to mean gold floss and iron thread which details the look of the lines that appear in the crackled surface. The color is balanced, elegant and exquisite. The whole piece is raised on a small disk-shaped foot. The glaze terminates just before the end of the base revealing a dark charred clay. This piece displays a subtle sheen as the light ricochets across the finely glazed exterior. Mark on base, a six blue underglazed seal script -ZhuanShu- characters, QianLong Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty.
