Chinese Yen-Yen vase painted in Guangxu blue. A Sizeable rotund body with rounded shoulders converging into a tall straight neck, flared opening, and a slightly concave foot base. The exterior is delicately decorated with Lotus blooms shooting forth between scrolling leafy tendrils. The rim is patterned in thrashing Li-shui wave forms. Along with the lotus flower symbolizing truth, fertility, and purity. Phoenix tail pattern circles the neckline. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous craftsman. Mark on base, a vertical six blue underglazed script -KaiShu- characters, GuangXu Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty.
