Late XVIII Century (approximately 1770) oil on canvas that had been folded. Lined, cleaned and varnished. Married to a late 1800s American karat gold over grey bole frame. Painting size is 31 1/2" x 23". Outside dimensions of frame are 38 1/4" x 29 7/8". Painted by Spanish Monks or Missionaries, in what is now California. Exceptionally fine karat gold frame in original condition in a pattern no longer made.
