Semi-transparent agate of a beautiful, even honey tone, the backside with a blueish chalcedony-like complexion, the front with some dark brown inclusions which have cleverly been integrated in the design, overall excellent and smooth surface polish. China, 1750-1850
Skillfully carved to depict a fierce, fire-spitting dragon emerging from a big cloud located in the upper right corner of the bottle, the coiled tail of the dragon hidden amidst several smaller clouds, the sun symbolized by an inlaid tourmaline cabochon.
Shape: Slightly bulbous rectangular shape
Hollowing: Excellent
Mouth, neck and lip: Short cylindric neck, very small almost cylindric mouth, the base of neck slightly domed with a slanted lip
Base: Oval with raised, thin foot rim
Stopper: Rose quartz on a porcelain-opal platelet
Height of the bottle with stopper: 7.9 cm.
Width of the mouth: 7 mm.
Width of the neck: 22 mm.
Condition: Mint condition
