Subtle-colored green celadon jade with fine cloudy texture, very few faint russet inclusions, smooth and soft polish, modern mounting with brown threads, small coral-colored and bone beads. China, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912)
Pair of flattened spade-shaped jade ornaments with tapering doublefins, modelled after the ancient form of spade-coins, mounted as a pendant ornament with auspicious endless knot, the mounting with an elongated bone bead, the bead incised with a depiction of Buddha Amitabha and four-character inscription ‘Emituofo’ (Amitabha).
Shape: Upright spade shape with curved tapering edges and doublefins, very flattened sides, each conically drilled through the upper center for attaching the mounting
Dimensions: 7,2 cm (height), 4,6 cm (width), 0,5 cm (depth)
Condition: Good condition, minor chips to the rim of the drilled hole, fine hand patina
